For an ardent fan, selling a prized baseball card collection was a pretty big sacrifice. LaMar Hatch made that sacrifice in 1988 when scouring up capital to finance his fledgling printing business. His ever-expanding view and entrepreneurial spirit has brought PrintechPlus into leadership in the Utah printing industry.
LaMar is a 1972 graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in accounting. He worked for many years as a Certified Public Accountant and has served on the board of Printing Industries of Utah, including serving as President of PIU in 2005 and 2006. LaMar has also served on the national board of directors of Printing Industries of America from 2003 until 2008, the first Utahn appointed to have that honor. LaMar has also been active within the community serving as a city councilman for Highland City and as Chairman of the South Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he has served as a volunteer in the “Meals on Wheels” program for the past 15 years.
Since turning over the mantle of President to his son Paul Hatch, LaMar continues to oversee the operations of the company as its Chairman and CEO.
